The crowds cheered on the chasers as they prepared to carry out the annual ritual of chasing the criminals out of the village literally. The righteous anger of the villagers directed at the criminals filled the air - the criminals were of a mixed crowd just like those baying for their punishments to commence, and their crimes ranged from cold-blooded murder to stealing to feed, and they were also a mix of the child, the youth and the elderly. Ojemba a renowned and seasoned participant in the chase looked up to where his wife and kids were sitting, in the early hours of the morning, he had reminded them why the events of the day, took place and why they ought to all live honorable lives. Ojemba waved to his family as he turned to the criminals and blew the horn.
